WDVC Submits Public Comments to the Wisconsin Election Commission

The Wisconsin Disability Vote Coalition provided public comments to inform Wisconsin Election Commissioners (WEC) at their June 10^th meeting.  Barbara Beckert spoke on behalf of the WDVC and shared recommendations for the August 11 and November 3 election including the public health imperative to promote absentee voting while still providing accessible in-person voting options,  the need for Wisconsin to develop an accessible ADA compliant absentee ballot, suggestions for addressing the accessibility concerns experienced by voters in the April election, a recommendation for the WEC to work with DHS to develop a plan to provide access to voting for residents of nursing homes and other residential “care” facilities.
