Event Information

2022 has been a challenging year for many voters with disabilities. Wisconsin has seen attacks on the federally protected right to assistance with voting, and absentee voting processes have continued to change. For many voters with disabilities, the voting process has been different for each of the four elections in 2022.

At this October 26th press event, voters with disabilities and advocates will set the record straight and address the voting rights and accommodations that provide equitable access to the ballot for voters with disabilities including:

  • Key voting rights protected by state and federal law including the right to assistance with voting
  • Requirements for accessible voting machines and polling places, curbside voting,
  • Guardianship and voting rights
  • Voting rights for care facility residents
  • Resources that support voters with disabilities
