What are Municipal Clerks?

Municipal Clerks are responsible for many things for the city, town, or village they represent. For example, they issue licenses, maintain financial records, and ensure the transparency of the conduct of business in their municipality.

Municipal Clerks are also in charge of elections for your city, town, or village. Your municipal clerk handles voter registrations and absentee ballots. They provide reliable information to the public about voting. They work hard to welcome every voter equally and be sensitive to the dignity and rights of voters has a great impact on voters with disabilities. We applaud their efforts to make elections accessible to those with disabilities by setting up the accessible voting machines, positioning machines for privacy and accessibility, messaging voters online, setting up curbside voting, and training poll workers on disability accommodations.
