Celebrate Municipal Clerks Week: Nominate a Great Clerk
May 1-7, 2022 is the 53nd Annual Municipal Clerks Week. Municipal clerks administer Wisconsin elections. Help us recognize Municipal Clerks for their work making our election accessible and inclusive.
|
Nominate your Municipal Clerk by completing this short Municipal Clerk Nomination form. All nominations will be posted on the Disability Vote Coalition website and Facebook page and shared with clerks. Send your nomination as soon as possible to allow time to post, and no later than April 28.

Municipal clerks are in charge of elections for your city, town, or village. Your municipal clerk handles voter registrations and absentee ballots for voters in your community. You can look up your Municipal Clerk’s name and contact information here.

Join with the Wisconsin Disability Vote Coalition to recognize the work of Wisconsin Clerks by highlighting best practices, such as supporting use of accessible voting machines, curbside voting, or assistance with absentee voting and early voting.

Did you vote in the April 5th election? Were you unable to vote because of barriers? We’d like to hear from you! Complete this League of Women Voters survey about your voter experience. We will use this information to find out what is working well, and to identify and address accessibility concerns and other barriers.

Please complete the survey and be sure to share any accessibility concerns. If the new restrictions on ballot return assistance and on drop boxes affected your voting rights, be sure to this in the survey If you were not able to vote April 5th because of these restrictions, be sure to complete the survey. .

Our Voices, Our Votes
The Wisconsin Supreme Court is considering the future of absentee ballot return assistance and drop boxes. The Court will decide whether Wisconsin law will protect voters’ ability to return their absentee ballots and will impact the voting rights of thousands of Wisconsinites with disabilities. Disability Rights Wisconsin (DRW)is a party is this case.

Voters impacted by these new restrictions, speak out in a new publication from DRW, “Our Voices, Our Votes”. There are thousands more Wisconsinites, like these voters, who treasure their right to vote, but must rely on a friend, family member or care provider to physically place their ballot in the mailbox, or return it to their clerk or to a secure drop box. Their voting rights must be protected.
